Puchong, Saturday, 27th July 2019 – Taylor's International School Puchong's highly anticipated music event Taylorians' Rhapsody is back for the third consecutive year with the theme 'Magical Melodies'. This 2-day event held on 26-27th July has attracted over 800 audiences. 215 students from 6 to 16 years old came together and put up excellent music performances ranging from orchestra to percussion ensemble.

Audiences are entertained with well-known songs and music from famous shows such as Harry Potter, Aladdin, Star Wars, and Wicked throughout the 2-hour show. This year's performance is special as it sees music arrangement and collaborative performances by our students from Year 1 up to the school’s alumni. Mixing in with choir and dance, audiences are promised an enjoyable time at the show.

"The theme Magical Melodies was brought forth when we realized that the songs we are presenting are from shows that have a fantasy theme," says Ms. Rebecca Yap, Head of the Music Department. She further commented that the songs chosen are songs students are familiar with but the challenge is that the students have to perform them in a different style of presentation.

"It is always humbling and awe-inspiring to see the sheer talent on display that students possess because I know that to achieve this level of excellence it has taken hours of dedication and practice," says Mr Stefano Piumatti, Principal of TIS Puchong. "I truly take my hat off to these lovely and talented young individuals," he continued.

Rehearsal began in May with a driven schedule to ensure that the students learnt their songs and dances so they could be ready to perform to their very best for the audience. Staying true to TIS Puchong's core value of being dedicated to a culture of excellence, students gave their enthusiasm and energy to achieve an outstanding performance.

This annual music event started in 2017 by a group of music teachers who wanted to discover and nurture students' talents with various music instruments and has since seen a growth of interest and participation by the students.
