Puchong, Monday, 20th January 2020 - Taylor’s International School (TIS) awarded scholarships to several outstanding students to pursue their studies at their Kuala Lumpur and Puchong campuses. Receiving this year’s scholarships from the President of Taylor’s Schools, Mr. BK Gan are Chadwyck See Yue Shen, Year 8 (TIS Kuala Lumpur); Marissa Ariana Binti Mohd Azlin, Year 8 (TIS Puchong) and Ng You Li, Year 9 (TIS Puchong).
Chosen via a rigorous selection process, the scholars have already proven themselves to be outstanding students whose achievements and aspirations go beyond their academic. Marissa from TIS Puchong is an all-round student whose academic accomplishment is rivalled only by her achievements in sports. She was President at her former school’s Karate Club and is actively competing as a rhythmic gymnast. Year 9 student Ng You Li also displays similar artistic endeavours beyond the classroom, with numerous competitions under her belt as an accomplished pianist. For TIS Kuala Lumpur, Chadwyck stood out from the rest for not only being academic accomplished but also for his outstanding abilities in arts.
It is through this scholarship awards that TIS upholds its purpose to educate the youth of the world to take their productive place as leaders in the global community.
Echoing the scholarship vision, Mr. Stefano Piumatti expresses hope that these scholars will fulfill their undoubted potential in their lives and make full use of the opportunities provided by the scholarship to blossom and grow into their talents. “They have already shown at the application stage that they are able students who can think outside of the box,” says Mr. Peter Wells. He continues to add that it is now the school’s responsibility to nurture these scholars and prepare them for the future with academic success and fine tune their skills.
At the end of the award ceremony, we caught up with the scholars as they shared their excitement towards the new opportunities that comes hand-in-hand with the scholarship. “I strongly believe that this scholarship will make me more confident and streamline my future education pathway.” said Chadwyck. Pianist You Li’s excitement were centred on the musical facilities available in TIS, which she is certain will greatly improve her musical capacities. Finally, we have Marissa whose hope is that the scholarship will eventually lead her to study in a prestigious university.
Excellence in academic achievements, leadership abilities and co-curricular involvements are only a few of the criteria that TIS look for in scholarship candidates. Candidates pass through a rigorous process that ensures they are the right fit for the award which will set them up for international-standard education, and gain them access to the exceptional leverage in higher education planning within the Taylor’s Education Group.

1) How did you feel when you receive word that you have been awarded this scholarship?
When I received word that I had been awarded this scholarship I felt very happy, excited and most of all proud that I had received this scholarship.
2) What is your aspiration for your future?
My aspiration for my future is to have a stable career that leans towards Science and Mathematics.
3) What are the factors that attracted you to TIS Puchong?
The facilities were one of the factors that attracted me to the school. I was also attracted to the concept of Quantum Learning where it allows students to learn more while having fun. It is a different method of teaching than the conventional method that many schools still use.

1) How did you feel when you receive word that you have been awarded this scholarship?
I felt very excited and grateful to be able to have this amazing opportunity to attend such a prestigious school that has many music facilities and events.
I would be able to participate in more music events and pursue further in my music journey.
3) Imagine you are now speaking to a group of potential scholars like you, what would you say to them?
I would like to advise them to put in all their effort into what they would like to pursue in and always do their best.

1) How did you feel when you receive word that you have been awarded this scholarship?
I felt excited to have the opportunity to study under a scholarship because it meant that I worked hard and if I continue this effort I will be able to succeed in my further studies and overall scores.
3) Imagine you are now speaking to a group of potential scholars like you, what would you say to them?
Try your best in every opportunity you are given to, and as long you know that it was the best effort then you know you’ve done well enough to get where you are today.
