A warm welcome back to school for Term 3, especially those who have started TISPC for the first time. I hope that everyone had a peaceful break with time to relax, as this term promises to be as busy as previous ones!
At the end of last term, we implemented
Vircle for cashless payments in the cafeteria and elsewhere. The feedback from this change has been positive, but if you have any questions please feel free to contact the school, or Vircle. One aspect of Vircle that we ask for your help with, is to
add a photograph of your child(ren) to the app. Once this happens, the cafeteria staff will be able to see the image of your child when they are paying for food. This then adds another layer of security to this system.
In the basement
carpark, parents will have noticed that we have added more
safety barriers to the drop-off and pick-up areas. These are to help stop children from running out into the traffic lanes. It is very busy at all the drop-off and pick-up points and it would do no harm to talk to your child and explain the dangers and help keep them safe. The school is monitoring the traffic situation around the campus continuously, and I ask for your continued support in following the instructions from the guards.
I would like to Remind you that earlier this year (22nd Feb) we informed parents about a change to the holiday arrangements for
Deepavali. This involved moving a school holiday
from Thursday 5th October to Tuesday 14th November, to allow a longer break for the school community celebrating Deepavali. Please check your version of the calendar to make sure it looks like
this.
It is hard to believe how quickly time has flown by, and in the Primary school, we are thrilled to embark on this last leg of our academic year with many exciting activities planned. As we celebrate this learning journey together, the first part of the term will have the children exploring new units like 'Going Places', discovering cultures and traditions from faraway lands for our Early Years learners, and the other year groups are researching the 'Vanishing Rainforest' and 'Buildings' as well as carrying out 'Shake It' and 'Bake It' experiments . After a long break from residential camps due to the pandemic, our Key Stage Two students will now start to take part in camps again in October, bringing together their knowledge and experiences gained throughout the year and also establishing meaningful friendships. The children will also go on field trips which are connected to their thematic units to enhance their learning. These experiences will not only strengthen existing skills but also create lasting memories that the children will cherish for a long time to come. Staff and parents are gearing up for our community events like the much anticipated school carnival and also International Day celebrations where food speaks its own language.
And last but certainly not least, Malaysia celebrates Merdeka on Thursday, and so the school will have holidays on Thursday and Friday. I would like to wish all of our Malaysian community a very happy independence day.
“Selamat Hari Merdeka”
