It was great to see our students back in school this week, even if this was part of the essential examinations for this year. Over this past week, our Year 11 learners started their IGCSEs in earnest, with English 2nd Language and ICT being the focus. With all candidates showing a solid approach, I know that they will be coping well with what the next few weeks have in store.
These next few weeks will be a little intense for all our Secondary students as they participate in their own Year group examinations. Year 10 term 3 examinations have started as well this week and Key stage 3 examinations will be starting next week. I have spoken to a few students and teachers and I was pleased to hear how our students have been preparing for these next couple of weeks.
I have also dropped in to visit a few classes and I was delighted to see how focused and prepared they seem to be. With still so many uncertainties, it is great to see how Secondary students at TISPC are focused and engaged in their learning.
I am aware that so many of our students have received their vaccinations or have appointments for their vaccinations. I am sure that this will provide all of us with continued assurances as to the plans to return to school become more possible due to these initiatives.
I am excited to share with Year 9 parents that we have a limited number of ‘Internal IGCSE Scholarships’ that we are looking to award to Year 9 students this year in preparation for their IGCSE start in Year 10 next year. There is a rigorous academic criterion to be considered for obtaining a possibility of one of these scholarships and we are currently filtering through all academic data of all Year 9 students. If your son/daughter is shortlisted due to their academic attainment, I will be in touch with you over the coming two weeks to share what the next step will be.
