Dear parents,
Another week and we are already well and truly into October. Our Year 11’s have commenced their Cambridge International Exams and I truly wish all of them the best of luck. The ones I have spoken to tell me that they are as best prepared as they can be. Meanwhile our Early Years 64% of them have been coming to school and it's lovely to see time enjoying their learning in the classroom.
The Secondary department will be announcing next week Year 9 Internal Academic scholarships for next Years, IGCSE course for Year 10 and Year 11. This is a two-year scholarship up to 50%. This is a new initiative being introduced and something that we have been discussing for quite some time. I would also like to thank you parents who have tackled me on this subject over the years. I anticipate interest and keen competition for these places. Perhaps in the future we will see if we can also offer other internal scholarships elsewhere in the school.
While there is a lot of talk of school reopening on a wider scale we must continue to observe the mandates and regulations set by the MoE and MoH. I know that some schools have ignored some of these mandates or perhaps they have special permission such as Phase 4 schools. Regardless, it will be irresponsible of us to do nothing else but follow the requirements announced by the Government until such time that we can open. Rest assured that we will open to all as soon as we are allowed. I will keep you posted on such changes to come.
Thank you for your support and please have a lovely weekend. It looks like soon interstate travel will be allowed for the fully vaccinated. Wouldn’t that be wonderful and a step in the right direction.
