8 April 2022 - Superb News From The Academics

Earlier this term, we announced superb IGCSE results from November 2021. As a reminder, students from TIS Puchong achieved 56% A* and A, and 85% A* to C. Now we are very pleased to announce that four students have been included in the Outstanding Cambridge Learner Awards for 2021.

The following students have been recognised as high achievers at IGCSE:
Low Xin Yan for IGCSE Design Technology, and
Fong Yu Shan for IGCSE Music

The following students have been recognised as ‘Top in the World’ achievers:
Ong Zhi Xuan for IGCSE Mathematics, and
Leow Woei Zheng for IGCSE Chinese Foreign Language

This means that since 2017, when the school first started IGCSE, we have had five students gain High Achiever Awards, five ‘Top in Malaysia’ Awards, and seven ‘Top in the World’ Awards. This is superb, and represents the hard work that our students and teachers have put into the IGCSE exams. Massive congratulations to all involved. One of our core values is EXCELLENCE and these students have certainly shown that, and they have given future IGCSE students something to aim for.

The COVID situation in school has calmed dramatically in the last few weeks, and so far this week the number of cases has been really small, with ten cases across the school. This breaks down at the time of writing to one case in Y3, two cases in Y5, one in Y6, three in Y7, one in Y10 and a single case in the staff.
We all need to continue to follow the SoPs and protect each other and people around us. I have included the latest information from the UK about symptoms for COVID. Please be aware of these symptoms and if you have any doubts, please take a test and keep your children at home. We will again be asking for self test results on Monday, and if you or your child tests positive, please keep them at home.

Finally I would like to highlight our first CSR project for 2022, which is a Food donation programme, called “Titian Kasih Food Drive 2022”. Parents will have seen a message from the school earlier in the week, asking for non-perishable food items to be donated. We have collection points by the drop-off points and also in the main atrium, so please help the school to help people who are less privileged. The collection points will be open until next Wednesday (13th April).

    Stay safe.
