This week’s Taylor’s RECIPE value was Integrity, a core value that is vital for all of our children’s futures as we ‘Raise them Ready’ for the world outside of Puchong. I really enjoyed conducting an assembly this morning for both the younger and older children, where we discussed the meaning of integrity and how important it is to be honest and truthful. Something which is key considering our online learning platform at the moment. I feel confident that our students are completing their work to the best of their abilities and using their online learning time to its full potential. This mature approach seen from our students is something I hope we can all celebrate together when we return to the campus and host our usual events at some point in the future.
It is important to us to try to maintain as ordinary a life as possible for the children during the pandemic so, with this in mind, we are pleased to be moving forward with our traditional events as we have done in previous years. Next Thursday (10th June) is the end of Syawal on the Islamic calendar so it is indeed an opportunity to celebrate and reflect on the past year. With this in mind we are pleased to announce that we will host an Online Hari Raya event. This will be on Friday the 11th of June, organised and run by our BM Team and we encourage all parents and students to join and celebrate with us. The details will also be sent through REMIND with the Zoom link so please keep an eye on your messages.
As we move towards the end of a very productive Term 2 I feel it is the right time to make an announcement regarding a change in our school’s personnel. After six and a half years Mr. David has decided to leave the school to take up a Head of Lower School position in a prestigious international school in China. He was one of the original staff to open the school back in 2015 and I know he has enjoyed himself very much over the years seeing the progress the school and the children have made. He will obviously be joined by his wife Ms Malar, also one of the pioneer staff back in 2015, and I wish them both well on their next adventure together.
I am pleased to say that Mr. David’s replacement is someone I have worked with in the past and will be a great addition to our school. Ms Annisa Pearce will be joining us from the UK at the beginning of Term 3 and I look forward to welcoming her into our community as Assistant Head in charge of KS2. We are also lucky to have some excellent candidates to select from to replace Ms Malar and will make that announcement in due course.
To finish, I would like to wish everyone a safe long weekend in lockdown and I look forward to seeing all of the children refreshed and ready to learn via zoom on Tuesday morning.
