Alongside the amazing Lunar New Year activities, it has been a diverse, but busy week for all learners in the Secondary section. There have been mock examinations for the upcoming BM and Mandarin examinations as well as an exciting introduction to new specific PSHE activities across the school.
During this time we have also had some time to review the provisional IGCSE grades from last years examinations and we are extremely excited and proud of all our 2019 Year 11 cohort who worked hard to produce outstanding results.
Some highlights include 100% pass rate for Add Maths for the second year in a row with another learner achieving a 100% pass mark in the examination. The Economics department also achieved a 100% pass rate joining the Malay and Mandarin departments who achieved 100% pass rates earlier in the year. Many departments achieved a 90%+ pass rate and working towards that magic 100% in the next few years ahead. Although these results are only provisional at this stage it is great to see that our learners are growing from strength to strength in their levels of attainment and providing a very strong foundation for the next step of the learning journey. The results will be finalised by the beginning of March and the school will receive individual IGCSE certificates from Cambridge soon after that time. These can be collected from the Secondary office, please call to check before arriving at school to check the certificates have been delivered.
The focus for our current Year 11’s will be the speaking examinations that will be coming up soon for Mandarin and BM and I am sure all learners are working towards achieving great things in these examinations.
I would like to remind all parents to log in to the Engage portal regularly to read emails and messages from the school. This is essential to ensure any up to date information that has been sent by email has been received by each parent. You will find information about an exciting initiative from the Music department as well as information about parent information sessions sent by email over the next couple of weeks.
