It has been one of the most challenging terms for all educational establishments and now as we have come to the end of this term, there are some fundamental observations to make.
Throughout all the changes that have been thrust upon all stakeholders, the learning at TIS Puchong continues to be of the highest standards. Although with the changes to the learning environment bringing about new classroom arrangements, it has been so exciting to see how learners have adapted so well to these changes and continue to make excellent progress. Within the short time that learners have been in school these past few weeks, a new routine has brought new awareness of the learning process and the need for learners to be adaptive and involved throughout the learning opportunities that they have been given.
At TIS Puchong we continue to strive for improving the learning environment and to this end we have brought in the capability for learners to bring their own devices to the school campus. A policy and further information has been shared with all parents on how this opportunity can be managed and how we intend to utilise this opportunity to extend the learning capability of our learners even further.
We are also trialing a change to our mobile phone policy and allowing learners to keep possession of any mobile phone they bring to school. Again a policy has been written to follow this process and we do not expect any learner to be using mobile data whilst they are attending classes throughout the school day, however this means that they now have access to their mobile phone at the beginning and end of the day so that they can be in touch with parents, especially at pick up times. This is adding to the swift collection of learners from the school at the end of the day.
We are still eagerly waiting for the 11th August and the arrival of the IGCSE results for the language examinations and candidates have been given passwords to access the online results service provided by Cambridge, so they can find out the results while at home during the break.
Finally thank you to all parents who gave us such positive praise during the past couple of weeks PTCs that have been carried out. We are planning for the Year 11 PTCs to take place quite soon into the start of Term 3 and these will be confirmed in the next few weeks. We will be running some more Zoom information sessions for parents in Term 3 to ensure all information to all Year groups is clear, especially following any changes to the RMCO and any effect on the school is identified.
