With the start of term 3 needing all hands on deck as we hit the ground running. There is no time to waste as the term 3 examinations for years 7 to 10 will be starting in September and the IGCSEs in October. This week has been bust laying the essential foundations to ensure all learners are planning and prepared for these examinations.

A particular highlight this week was our Merdeka assembly, where some performances including songs and poetry were presented as part of the celebration. It was great to see so many learners in national costume, bringing flags and joining in with celebrating this great moment.

Another highlight was the release of the IGCSE results for the June examinations. We are so proud of our learners and what they have achieved. The main examinations taken were Bahasa Malaysia and Mandarin and with over 215 IGCSE examinations, I am pleased to share that the provisional results indicate a 100% pass rate of grades from A* to C. This result has been a target for the school for this year and after the previous two years achieving a 99% pass rate for the same examinations, we are proud of all stakeholders. A huge congratulations to all learners and a big thank you to all the staff involved in supporting learners to achieve this result. Well done to all.

I must highlight that at the end of July, a couple of our Alumni learners, Arvind Asokan, Bryant Ng Chee Hsuen and Ryan Wong from our current Year 11 participated in the International Economics Olympiad in St Petersburg, Russia. I am delighted to share with you that as part of Team Malaysia, Bryant obtained 1x Gold, Arvind 1x Silver and Ryan 1x Bronze. Again huge congratulations to the three participants, we are very proud of your achievements.

Additionally, I would like to congratulate Hasmita Kannan who won first place in the Individual Category of the Young Inventor Journal Paper Writing Competition. She was interviewed by RTM Malaysia, which is our national television station. A superb effort Hasmita, well done and well deserved.

Finally, I am pleased to share that we have two new members of staff that have joined the TIS Puchong family this week. Ms Katherine Cooper as our new Head of English and Mr Wasim Bayoumy as our new Head of Secondary PE. I am sure their experience will add to the benefits and support we offer all learners and I am sure we will continue to excel in achievements together.
