We have reached the last week of the term, where nearly everything returned to normal. It has been an increasingly busy term but speaking to students, staff and parents, it has been so good to have normal lessons, to have sports days and fixtures, and to have performances. Well done to everyone for responding to the challenges of this term and congratulations for the successes that we have seen.
Last week on Friday evening and Saturday morning, TIS presented “Everlasting”. This was a showcase of student talent from both TIS Puchong and TIS Kuala Lumpur. These tremendous performances reminded us of what we have been missing for the last two plus years. Schools are so much more than classrooms where content is taught to students. Schools are places where children develop and grow, learn to collaborate, socialise and interact with each other. What could be better than performances like this to bring people together?
My congratulations and thanks to the students for showing us what they can do, to the various teachers who helped behind the scenes, but in particular to Ms Rebecca from TIS Puchong for having the idea in the first place and driving it forward in such a short period of time, and also Ms Belinda and Mr Radin from TIS Kuala Lumpur, for their support both artistically and technically. Finally I would like to thank the parents and students who came to watch. Performances wouldn’t mean as much without an audience. I hope that you will also be pleased to hear that the school raised RM15,452 for Pertubuhan Kebajikan Kanak-Kanak Heavenly, and Pusat Jagaan Mesra As Salam. As we come out of the pandemic it is really good that we can help support two children's charities who are in need. Well done everyone involved.
