As we have ventured into the new term and new academic year, we are continuing to extend our methods of communication and information sharing to our TIS Puchong community. Our intention is to use this internal website to share with you regular information about events and achievements from the school.
I am delighted to share with you that the MoE has given the school approval for full attendance for learners to attend TIS Puchong for 'face to face' learning. I am sure that there are still many concerns over covid-19 issues, however, the thorough and rigorous SoPs in place ensure the health and safety of all learners and staff are at the highest levels. With current attendance figures standing at around 88% for Secondary learners, we are delighted to be able to provide the best learning experiences possible for our TIS Puchong students.
I must highlight the IGCSE results where again, TISPC students can be proud of their achievements, outstanding results proving again the extended talents and abilities of TISPC learners and supporting teachers. 85% A* to C, 71% A* to B, and 57% A* to C... Amazing!!!
With the amazing IGCSE results that we have received from the 2021 cohort, we continue to support our learners to maximise their potential and achieve the best IGCSE results. One of the important indicators used by teachers to understand students’ abilities and hence, support and monitor performance of students to achieve their likely potential is the results from the CAT4 tests. Our Year 7 and 9 learners have successfully completed the CAT4 tests this week. It really feels great to have learners take the tests physically in school after 2 years.
Next, in preparation for the June 2022 IGCSE Mandarin and Malay Language exams, our learners are gearing up to sit for the Mock Written Exams scheduled on 8th and 9th Feb as well as the Mock Speaking Tests scheduled between 14th and 23rd Feb. We believe the Mock Exams will provide our learners a valuable experience in preparing for exams, using time efficiently, knowing areas of mastery and where they need to put more effort on as well as what to expect on the day of an IGCSE exam.
Besides this, individual departments will conduct the Term 1 Assessments after the Chinese New Year break, the results of which will be discussed with parents during the Parent Teacher Conferences at the end of the term.
Lastly I would like to once again wish a safe and happy holiday to all. Gong Xi Fa Cai!
