On a different note, I am sure you have all been following the news covering the pandemic with great interest. At this point, learning continues online. The Ministry of Education has pushed back the date for a phased reopening of schools from September to the 3rd of October. It is not yet clear which age groups will open first. The school is fully prepared to open at any date it will be authorised to do so, adhering to the strictest SOP’s. However, as was the case during previous re-openings, we will continue to offer online learning for those children who will not be travelling to school.
We appreciate these are immensely challenging times for many families in our community. This feels like the right time to thank you for the sacrifices you make to provide your children with this education and, in particular, the trust you place in us to work with your biggest treasures in life. Together we will create the best learning situations for the children, no matter what the circumstances are. A special welcome of course to all the new families who have joined our community. We are very glad that you have chosen to be with us.
As stated many times before, we place great value in staying in contact with each other. Please do not hesitate to get in touch with us via Remind, via email or by Zoom appointment if there is anything you wish to discuss with us. The teachers and leaders are happy to communicate with you!
There are two leadership changes that are important to note in terms of this communication: Ms. Jessie has taken up the position as interim Assistant Head of Primary for Key Stage 2. She will also be the contact person for all matters related to Year 5. Ms. Alleyce will assist all parents with matters specifically related to Year 3 as Interim Head of Year 3. Again, please do not hesitate to contact them as they will be happy to help.
We are also very happy to welcome new teachers to our faculty. Ms Yvonne will join the Mandarin team and Mr. Hamzi will be our new PE teacher. We wish them both a great time at our school, filled with enjoyment and learning.
And having mentioned ‘learning’, the last thing I would like to inform you on is that a new cohort of Taylor’s University’s School of Education students have joined us this term for their internship with us. Twelve ‘teachers in training’ will be benefiting from their mentor’s modelling as they progress their journey to become fully qualified teachers. We believe that this is a great enhancement of our culture where learning is at the heart of everything we do. We wish them lots of learning and hope they will enjoy their time with us.
