Dear parents and students,
Welcome to Term 3. Sadly we are unable to see each other face to face, but we are solidly going forward step by step through this seemingly never ending maze. Two things are very important: firstly that the Puchong community is safe and will continue to be safe, because we are taking all necessary precautions, and secondly, despite the challenges your children are still having lessons every day in their subjects with their teachers which of course as you know in many parts of the world has not been possible. It is in times like this that we must count our blessings and look for the positives, because otherwise it is too easy to be derailed into negative thoughts and feelings. So let’s count our blessings everyday as best as we can.
We will as always continue to give our best in terms of teaching and learning. The teachers have hit this term running hard and are giving their best and will continue to do so. The task of teaching and preparing our students for exams in upper school has begun well in earnest once again. We are constantly monitoring the situation with the MOE and looking forward with purpose to the day we can return to campus. At the moment the date mooted by the MOE on partial return is the 1st October.
You may have also seen a Google form that has been sent to some of you. This is from us but requested by the MOE with regard to vaccinations for your children. At this point in time it is only for those who are 12 years and above. So all of Secondary and some in Primary would have received this form. This can be found in your Engage/family email. I would urge all of you who have received such a form to fill it in. The purpose of this form is solely to gather your thoughts on vaccinations, nothing more. It is to do whether or not you agree on vaccination of your children. Recently this was asked of all our staff in Puchong as well.
Also a hearty welcome to all our new parents and students. I had the opportunity to meet you online on Monday and I do hope that you are settling in well.
All the best all and let's have a great Term 3.
