Dear Parents,

I am writing an extra newsletter this week to give you three pieces of good news.

The first one is that we have successfully opened for the Year 11 students on Wednesday and today, the third day of the new normal, the students are doing very well. They are back in class studying hard and learning. I have had a chat with many of them and they all seem glad to be back. From my point of view, it is lovely to hear them, lovely to see them and to feel their energy. I have to applaud them, they have been absolutely wonderful in following all the strictures imposed on us by the new SOP regarding social distancing and safety. I have to also applaud Miss Irene and the Facilities team and the Secondary team who have worked so hard to make this opening happen.

The second piece of good news is that next Wednesday 1st July we will be opening for Early Years students. In this case the Primary team has been working very hard to get classes ready according to the Ministry of Education’s requirements. Yesterday Miss Nienke led a very informative parent session for the Early Years. All their questions were answered and I can safely say that there is a high level of confidence. I am looking forward to next Thursday to having the little ones and their own energy back at school.

The third piece of good news and something which I am personally delighted to announce is that it has been decided that for Taylor’s schools, which includes TIS Puchong, there will be a fee freeze for the whole of the academic year 2021. This means that there will be no increase in fees for next year and this includes the technology fee as well. We are very aware of the difficulties that some of you are facing and we want to further assist.

Behind the scenes we are preparing the school for the eventual commencement of the other Years once the Ministry gives us the green light. We are in constant dialogue with them and I will keep you updated with any developments.
