In this week’s newsletter I will talk about two topics: one is swimming coming back and one is the news that we will be hosting our first ever World Animal Day celebrations next month!
For the last 2 weeks we have successfully held swimming lessons for primary school children. The lessons have gone outstandly well, respecting the social distancing and SOP’s and as well as ensuring safety is priority, the student’s enjoyment has been a delightful highlight to witness. Next week our secondary students will recommence their swimming lessons, the students have been informed about who’s turn it is and we envisage a smooth transition for them from PE classes to swimming. Please rest assured that we are following every protocol given by the government to ensure safety in the pool is paramount to our philosophy and success.
Now for the second topic. I am delighted to announce that we will be hosting our first ever World Animal Day on Wednesday 7th October! This is celebrated annually but it is the first year we have celebrated it in TIS Puchong. Students will celebrate by having a non-uniform day and will be educated on all information surrounding the celebrations during their PSHE classes. We ask that all students who are taking part in the non-uniform day bring in 10rm (if you would like to contribute more than this then that would be fantastic) which will go towards a new partnership we have created with an animal charity called Voice For Paws (IG: voice_for_paws). They are one of the leading animal charities in Malaysia and all the funds raised will go towards saving animals, treating them for any injuries or infections, and attempting to rehome them. More information about this will be disseminated over the next 10 days or so. We are extremely excited for it and would love for all students to take part, as the staff from around the school will be! I will be the organiser and co-ordinator for this event so if you have any questions please do get in touch.
Have a restful weekend.
