With Deepavali just around the corner and the few days of celebration happening next week, one of the highlights for the Secondary school was our Deepavali assembly on Wednesday. This as always was a great time of celebration and with various presentations of dance, song, games and competitions, all learners enjoyed the celebrations and again proving the variety of talents visible across the cultural diversity within the school.
The IGCSEs have continued this week and again it has been great to see the focus and expectations of the candidates attending the examinations. Candidates have all been present and on time for each examination and look prepared with the correct stationary. Some of the revision classes have clarified some of the last minute questions from learners and we trust that all learners who have tried their best will prove to themselves the value of all the hard work and preparation was worth it.
You will have received an email about the Parent Teacher meetings on the 8th November. Like the previous PTC meeting day, being a full day, we received so many positive comments on this structure, we have repeated this format. This PTC event will run from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm and will be for Years 7, 8, 9 & 10. In the previous PTC event, Year 11 were included, this time due to the current IGCSE examinations and Year 11 graduation, the Year 11s will not be included. This also means that there should be even more availability for some teachers and therefore create more flexibility for appointment times to be selected that suit your time frame. For parents who have limited availability that day, I would encourage you to log in to the Engage portal and book your appointment times over the next few days to ensure your preferred time is selected.
To help prepare for these PTC meetings with teachers, the Term 3 reports will be published for all parents in Years 7, 8, 9 & 10 week beginning 4th November or sooner if all data has been collated.
Finally I would like to wish everyone a Happy Deepavali and that all the celebrations you are involved in go well and are enjoyed by all. For some Year 11 candidates taking examinations, please remember to ensure you are on time for the examinations on Tuesday and Wednesday next week and that you are all prepared in your school uniform.
