Last week it was confirmed that Taylor’s International School is now officially a Quantum Learning Distinguished School. Together with our colleagues from TIS Kuala Lumpur, we are the first ones to achieve this level of implementing the QL system in the world. That is of course quite something special and this fills us with a sense of pride and achievement. This badge of honour is obviously very much welcomed, but what lies behind it is the recognition that, by adopting the principles of the Quantum Learning system, the learning experience of all Puchong students has improved to an even higher level. I congratulate all our teachers, teaching-assistants and leaders. I am thankful that their openness, their willingness to learn and their hard work in making this happen has paid off. The students are benefiting as a result. Taylor’s have invested greatly in their teachers to make this process happen with a commitment that was shared amongst all layers of decision making in the organisation. We are now looking forward to the next phase of our Quantum journey as striving for excellence never reaches a final destination. We will set our next goals to achieve and keep developing ourselves to provide our students with the best guidance and support they can get.
For now, our everyday reality is that we are still under the Conditional Movement Control Order and as of yet, no opening date for the school to re-open has been set. Many of us were hoping that by now we would be getting excited about returning to school but unfortunately that time has not come just yet. When we do get the green light to return to school, there will undoubtedly be some tight regulations in place that we will fully adhere to.
Over the next week, with no online learning scheduled because of the Hari Raya break, I will again run Zoom sessions every day at 2pm in which I will share some of my favourite story books with the children. It was very nice to see that so many ‘turned up’ and the way they responded to the stories. I now also want to try and bring some entertainment to some older Primary children by reading a book to them at 3pm. We will send Invitations via Remind. Attendance is completely optional and the only thing you need to join a session is the password which will be on the invitation. I am looking forward to enjoying these books with the children!
I wish all members of our community an enjoyable break and those who celebrate Hari Raya, a wonderful celebration and a lovely time together with your loved one (where possible!)
