Still with Deepavali, I was proud to be asked by Puzzle Planet to speak at their 10th anniversary celebrations in the Pavilion at Bukit Jalil. Secondary students from the Puzzle club have been successful in gaining an entry into the Malaysian Book of Records with the largest Kolam jigsaw puzzle. This was a super collaboration between not only the students but also the teachers involved. We will receive the jigsaw puzzle in coming weeks and will be able to display it for all to see. Thank you to Puzzle Planet and the Pavilion for inviting TISPC to take part in this event.
This week we also made more steps with our Care.MVMT. On Tuesday we went to a refugee school in Batu Caves to donate 30 laptops to the school. This school operated by Human Aid Selangor does a fantastic job of keeping the learning going for nearly 100 refugee students from Myanmar and other asian countries. These laptops are end of life devices that TIS has been using for many years, but there is still some life left in them. It was really good to interact with the students and teachers in the school. This is the first in a number of charity donations that both TIS campuses will be making over the coming weeks.
The
IGCSE exams are now in full swing, with our students working away in the MPR on the 4th floor. This is the culmination of their Primary and Secondary schooling and I wish them all the best in these exams. It is a very serious time of year for them.
Linked to this is their
graduation, yesterday we found out that the proposed graduation date now clashes with the polling day on Saturday 19th November, therefore we will be proposing a new day for the graduation ceremony. I ask Year 11 parents to monitor their email accounts, so that we can alert them to the new day and time. We apologise in advance for this change but with the election, this is out of our control.
And finally, I would like to
wish everyone a peaceful long weekend, as
school will restart on Wednesday 26th October.
Stay safe
