We have come to the end of the academic year 2020 here at Taylor’s International school. We will not be telling you anything new, when we say it was a year like no other. This holds true for the school, for Malaysia and for the world. The Pandemic has impacted us all in various ways. Luckily, there were no COVID-related health issues within our community as far as we know. This is something we can be immensely grateful for. However, the virus situation did force us to continue the learning away from the school building and into family’s homes. The months that we were able to spend together in school were under a “new normal”, where we implemented strict procedures to keep our community as safe as possible.
On Thursday and Friday, we invited all parents to end the year together with us via Zoom sessions. We took the opportunity to share some highlights and provide a glimpse of what can be expected in 2021. It was a lovely way to wrap up a year in which parents, students and teachers showed a real community spirit, remaining in communication, understanding each other’s challenges and interacting respectfully and with good purpose. Those are real positives that will stick in my mind whenever I will look back at this bizarre year!
I’d like to end this newsletter with some well-deserved thank you’s. Thank you parents, for your flexibility and support. Thank you teachers and all members of staff, for your ability to adapt, your creativity and dedication. Last but not least, thank you children for arranging your learning space when working from home, adhering to the safety procedures when in school and keeping your focus on your learning.
On behalf of all of us here at TIS Puchong Primary School, we wish you a great break and we are looking forward to welcoming you back in January.
