As we move deep into the heart of term 2 for 2021, the cogs of the main engine in the TISPC Secondary learning machine continue despite the ongoing concerns of Covid-19. This week I met with all our Year 11 students in an online assembly as part of the preparation for the mock exams, it was so encouraging to see that although there are signs of increased stress, there are also signs of readiness and maturity, I know our students will perform their best in the next few weeks ahead.
This past week then presented us with an unexpected opportunity for Year 11 students to return to school to attend their IGCSE mock examinations. We have worked closely with the MoE and MoH to ensure that this opportunity meets all the expected standards and health levels to ensure that we can maximise the benefit for our students involved. We have seen outstanding attendance for these examinations that will continue to June 28th, which is the final date of approval given to us by the MoE. As it stands, these examinations have gone extremely well and although there is a visible increased stress level for students, they have approached this opportunity with maturity and focus, a testament to the support offered from home.
The house coordinators organised a engaging cross curricular event that took place last week and here is a short report from Mr Gladwin, one of the House Coordinators;
As you already know, for the past two weeks, Mr. Mahen, Ms. Charlie and the house coordinators ran the first online house event: The COVID-19 Video Awareness Challenge. We would like to thank everyone for helping us spread the word and getting our students to join the House Google Classroom. We hope you had a good time watching the videos and witnessing our students' creativity and capabilities. Without further ado, here are the results of the first house challenge:

CONGRATULATIONS to the Blue house, under the leadership of Mr. Viven, but do watch your back yo! The other houses are coming after ya! haha. As usual, we the house coordinators look forward to your contribution and assistance in our upcoming House challenges. Get psyched!
Finally I want to add that I am so proud to see the growing maturity and focus that learners at TISPC continue to show throughout this extended time of home based learning. Also to you as parents, who have become such an essential direct support for your children while they are at home learning. We are currently planning the PTC’s and it will great to hear the stories that are shared by parents of these experiences.
