Dear Parents,
I am delighted to tell you that the opening of school this week has gone very smoothly. This week we invited back Years 5 & 6 in Primary and the rest of Secondary albeit in a staggered routine and today we welcome Year 8’s. All the forethought, preparation and hard work that has gone into making the Puchong community safe is paying off.
The students this week have been absolutely stupendous, getting into their stride very quickly under these ‘new normal’ conditions. Walking around and greeting students has been a joy again. Their warmth and their wit is a great reminder of why we do this great job. Walking around into classrooms, many have expressed their delight at being at school and I can tell you that the Year 11s in particular are working jolly hard, and they too, as all students, have shown incredible patience, because it can’t be easy being in the same classroom in their bubble for the length of the school day.
I have to also express my gratitude to my wonderful staff many of whom are dedicating extra hours by coming in earlier and leaving later to ensure that all the government directives are met. We have staff coming in early to be in classrooms and staff leaving later to make sure that the end of the day runs smoothly. Also, our administrative staff have volunteered their time and this is testament to the whole school working together.
In addition, I am indebted to you, dear parents, for your cooperation with us on all matters. Particularly, both times each day, pick up and drop off have been very smooth and you have been very patient and I thank you for that. We still have a little while longer to go under these ‘new norms’ and I know these times can be testing but I urge you to continue with your understanding and good humour. Thank you.
Have a great weekend and I look forward to having the rest of Primary in on Wednesday.
