Dear parents,
We are entering our penultimate week and I can believe that the Term is nearly over. I have been busy with meetings as per usual but also with lesson observations.
These have been largely a delight where I get to see the many myriad of ways that teachers approach their subject material and their classes. In the lockdown period they really have been very creative and imaginative on how to make classes not only interesting and entertaining but also to get their subject material knowledge and understanding across. No easy feat.
Lessons flowed with purpose and intent and students were engaged and loved doing what they were doing and the learning that took place. These lessons are good role models for the rest of us. So many teachers are trying hard to constantly improve their delivery and clarity. These past few weeks have seen many observations and feedback sessions. Many show empathy for their students and indeed love, I saw engagement, collaboration and adaptability and in addition good listeners and strong communicators. The teachers at Puchong have shown a great deal of adaptability and this has transpired to the students as well. Good role models transpose good values. This I have seen.
I leave you with this quote which has been so apt this week.
‘The best teachers are those who show you where to look but don’t tell you what to see.’ – Alexandra K. Trenfor
Have a good week ahead.
