So, 2021 continues in very much the same fashion as we left 2020! Having been allowed to start the school in our building, we were forced to switch from in-school learning to online learning and are now waiting to hear when we can welcome the children back into school again. However, the difference this time is that Early Years classes have been allowed to stay open. Our dedicated Early Years team have remained in school, ensuring that the SOP is closely followed to keep the children as safe as possible. I have seen children perfectly keeping a safe distance from each other by working in hoops and I have seen them washing their hands frequently and diligently. We very much welcome that our youngest children are allowed to be taught in school as online learning can be very challenging for our little ones and they require much more adult support than the older children. This way they are learning more and are enjoying the time they have together.
Our KS1 & KS2 teams and the learners in those classes have made a smooth transition to learning online, something that was, after all, not new to them. Over the last couple of days, I have again been very impressed with the creativity and professionalism of our teachers to support the learning from home. We are confident that we can offer the appropriate instruction whilst the children are online and expect that all students are profiting from our provision. If you have any concerns at all, please do not hesitate to contact the class teacher.
This week all parents were invited to meet their child’s teacher for introductions and a further sharing of information on what to expect this academic year. This was via Zoom and was already planned to take place online prior to the announcement of the MCO.
As stated previously, it is my firm belief that part of the reason our community remained successful during the previous MCO period, is the strong communication we were able to uphold. It is our full intention to maintain good communication as we go through these challenging times. To that end we will organise Zoom meetings with the primary leadership team. We will send the invites out over the next week and hope that you can join us to share your experiences and receive further updates. We are of course always available to virtually meet with you individually whenever there is a need to do so.
Wishing all our families a safe and enjoyable weekend.
