A new year, a new term and a new start. If there is anything that 2020 prepared us for, it's to be prepared for the unexpected.
In the first two weeks of school we have all needed to adapt and be flexible to the constant changes placed upon us from the external pressures of adapting to the new norms. I am delighted to share that the start of this year for the Secondary TISPC learning environment has been focussed and directed towards a clear pathway of excellence in learning opportunities for all our learners wherever they are accessing the learning from.
For this week specifically experiences from being present on campus to teaching and learning in front of a computer screen is something we can now say we are more prepared for. Although the short notice to adapt to this form of learning is always a challenge, I am so encouraged to see the quality of learning and interaction that is happening between teachers and learners. Check out the examples here in these camera shots.
As we are preparing for the future it will be important to share with you some of those plans and with that context, I have arranged a time for the Secondary SLT team to meet with you as parents to discuss our plans and listen to any ideas you may have to helps us see further opportunities to excel the learning experiences for our children. These ‘Zoom’ meetings will run from 10:00 am each morning next week, Monday for Year 7, Tuesday for Year 8 etc and you should have received the respective link for your children through the Engage portal in your family email account. It will be great to catch up with so many of you once again as we head into 2021.
Our Year 11 2020 cohort will be getting their preliminary IGCSE results on Tuesday at around 2:00 pm. I am sure there are some nervous and excited parents and students waiting anxiously for these and as always we are so proud of what we know our learners will attain.
For our current Year 11, we have been preparing for their return to the campus and I am delighted to say that we will be expecting our Year 11 learners to be back in their classrooms on Monday 18th January. We do need all learners to complete the health declaration before next Monday and we will be following a very strict SOP to ensure all our learners are safe in the classroom learning environment.
If you have any queries concerning any of these topics, please email the secondary office at; secondaryoffice@pc.tis.edu.my
I trust you will be keeping safe and well.
