This week has been all about the Sports Days for our KS1, KS2 and secondary students, and they were without doubt the best sports days we have ever hosted in our short history.
On Wednesday and Thursday our KS1 and KS2 children took part in a 6-activity carousel for their sports day adventures. The sprints were a highlight, as well as the new stations of Welly Wanging and Bucket Fill. The students have a fantastic day and, taking part in all the activities and pushing themselves hard. I am very proud of all of them. A huge thank you to the primary staff for their efforts on the day as well as the parents for their high energy and
Our secondary sports day took part on Friday as students took part in sports such as Badminton, Volleyball, basketball and Netball. This year we also had challenge stations which included challenges such as bowling, table tennis, tennis, rowing machine and boccia. The students had the time of their lives, it was a pleasure to witness. The day was not at all about students winning medals or trophies, as we have our sports teams for that, but more so for the students who maybe do not have the confidence to take part in sports teams, and to give our students the opportunity of playing new games/sports. Our secondary staff were excellent, working so hard to give our students a great day and providing memories that will last a lifetime. I’d like to also thank my PE department, they have worked so hard in preparing for these days, staying until extremely late and coming in very early to ensure everything was in place for our students to have 3 fantastic days. Congratulations to everyone involved.
On Thursday our Volleyball under 13 girls, coached by Mr Firdaus, travelled to Tenby International School for their KLISS cup finals. They were up against some very good teams, and had the chance to ensure that ALL our Volleyball girls teams - under 11, under 13, under 15 and under 18 finished as 2019 KLISS champions. They beat their first two opponents, playing HELP International School in the final, and they won!!! An incredible, unprecedented result, meaning we have won all the Volleyball KLISS girls tournaments this year! A complete domination. They deserve all the plaudits coming their way.
On Tuesday Mr Zul's Volleyball under 13 boys team grey and white teams travelled for their bowl tournament in TIS Kuala Lumpur. We played extremely well and could’ve won it, finishing in 3rd place. It is always pleasing to see us develop 'C' teams as our overall aim in TIS Puchong is to encourage participation at all levels and this is something we have improved significantly this year.
Once again, thank you to everyone for all their efforts in the sports days - staff, students and parents. The carnival atmosphere was fantastic and I look forward to next year's sports days already!
