The theme of this week in Primary was passion, which is apt. I see a multitude of activities, sports, debates and productions which have a large dose of this element. Without it the students at our school would not be happy. Today (Friday), for instance, I am going to be one of the judges in a debating competition in Secondary, organised solely by the students. The teachers of course are there to guide and give advice, but from start to finish, the students have organised this. This demonstrates some of the passion I am talking about, not only this element but also willingness, enthusiasm and a certain confidence that comes with organising events like this.
On Thursday I met the Year 2 parents at the coffee morning which was delightful. It was lovely to see people again for the second time and we discussed some contemporary concerns and many positives as well. It is always great and comforting to get your feedback. This is much appreciated. A reminder also that next Thursday 26 September at 8 a.m. is the first meeting of the Parent Teachers and Friends (PTF) – please do come along. I want to stress here that the PTF will not replace Class Parents (CP) in Primary. The CP will continue but I am hoping that PTF will become the formal body for the whole school to work with. I am looking forward to meeting many of you next week.
Furthermore, I can tell you that many of our students are applying and rehearsing for the next instalment of Taylors Got Talent competition which will occur in mid-October. This again promises to be an amazing show with Mr Ian and his team of teachers, and of course the talent of Taylors students.
Finally, I would like to say thank you for your support this week, in particular with regards to the haze situation. It was my first experience of the phenomenon. We have tried to maintain the school functioning as normal as much as possible but indoors of course. Standard procedures were put in place and I am content to say that school operated smoothly.
Kind regards Stefano Piumatti Principal of Taylor’s International School Puchong
