Dear Parents and Guardians
Welcome back to school and I would like to wish you all a very Happy new year. It has been a few years since we have been able to start the school year without any restrictions or SoPs. This has made this week so much more exciting and positive. We are able to really focus upon learning, instead of temperatures and testing.
Going back to normal will be challenging for some people after the last three years. Equally for many students remembering what ‘normal’ looks like might be a challenge. This year we hope that all the sports and competitions can get back into full action and that our students can show their abilities on the sports field. Sport and competition is really important and teaches students teamwork, resilience, dedication and so much more. I am looking forward to seeing our students compete and to reporting our sporting success in the future.
Equally important is our ability to now have field trips and educational visits, again so much missed in the last three years. These are invaluable to put learning from the classroom into perspective.
On another positive note, I would like you to join me in congratulating the Primary team for receiving notification of the iEYC and IPC accreditation from the UK. This is a massive achievement and shows the quality of teaching and learning that in this case is happening in the Primary school. Children in the Primary school have been benefiting from this approach for many years, and it is great to have it recognised internationally with this accreditation. I would also like to acknowledge all the hard work of the staff in Primary who even during lockdowns made this accreditation possible.
