As we have now settled into the full return to school for all learners, it has been exciting to see the school atmosphere back to a lively heartbeat. We are still unable to have PE lessons in a practical setting and large group activities like assemblies are also not permitted, however the learning ‘buzz’ around the school can be experienced.
The calendar ahead for the rest of the term looks very busy and lively with so much to fit in. It's important that we take the opportunity to maximise the time we have in the classrooms and to take full advantage for practical learning experiences following the home based learning that has happened over the past few weeks.
For our 2020 graduates there is a ‘Drive Through’ graduation with gowns and photos on Saturday 3rd April. Parents attending please follow the strict guidelines that you will be sent to ensure that this celebratory event will run as smoothly as possible under the circumstances.
For our current Year 11s, they are now working towards their language IGCSEs that will be taking place very soon. All parents will have been sent an examination timetable for all the exams that are running in this series, which start on 15th March and will be spread out from that week, with the last exam on the 3rd June. It will be important to note that the Speaking tests start next week and if your son/daughter is taking a language IGCSE this year then they will likely be involved in these. Please make sure they know their slot for when this exam is taking place.
Parents for learners in Years 11, 7 and 8 will now have access to book the PTCs for this term, please log in to your Engage portal where you will have the option to book a slot with your child’s class teachers. For Years 9 and 10, the appointment slots will be available next week. In preparation for these please check your Engage portal to download and view your child’s report. Years 7 and 8 have been published and 11, 9 and 10 will be available by the end of next week.
Finally there are a few exciting events taking place for some of our learners, including a virtual debate competition. We will keep you informed of these and other events as they take place.
