It has been a very busy week for all learners in the secondary school this week, especially for Year 10 who have been preparing for their annual examinations starting next Monday. I know that they are working hard and teachers are preparing them well, I am sure that the efforts put in will pay off.
Following the Year 10 examinations, the Key stage 3 examinations will be starting soon after and I know the preparations are well underway to ensure that all learners have a clear foundation for ensuring they are fully prepared.
With the changes to the procedures allowing for some physical activities to take place in the school, it has been clear that this brings a better balance of holistic learning back into the school curriculum. Both teachers and learners alike are feeling a little more settled within the school campus. Although there are strict guidelines to follow regarding physical distancing, I am pleased to say that the initial observations are showing that this is a very positive move for the learning environment.
One of the highlights this week was the Global Perspectives presentations, although again this was restricted due to physical distancing, it was exciting to see that this could still go ahead and that all the hard work that the students had put in can be recognised. Well done to all, amazing commitment and very well presented by all.
Finally I would like to ask all parents to help by reminding our learners of the physical distancing requirements on arriving and departing from the school and to ensure that all learners come to school with appropriate face masks, also ensuring they have a spare in case there is a need. I know we are all aware of the importance of this and this becomes increasingly important as the daily timetables are beginning to fall back into a familiar pattern.
I trust you will be safe and enjoy the Malaysia day celebrations next week.
