This week ended with an initiative from our Primary School Student Council. They organised a 'Crazy Hair Day'. Children and members of staff were invited to come to school with a funny hair style or any other amusing head accessories. Many children and members of staff took up the council's invitation and came to school in a very entertaining fashion. During the end-of-week assembly, the appearance of some well-known members of staff wearing some hairy wigs increased the excitement even further! In a week in which we focused on the RECIPE of 'Communication', the school council did an excellent job in 'communicating' on stage with our school community about the set-up of 'Crazy Hair Day' and the motivation for their initiative They informed us that the money raised was for an orphanage called Pertubuhan Kebajikan Ikhlas in Kuala Lumpur. The orphanage will use the donation to purchase educational materials. The Student Council was very proud to announce that so far RM3886 had been collected. On behalf of the orphanage, Ms. Malar, who is connected to this project, came on stage, also wearing some very interesting head-gear, to collect the money that was generously donated by our community.
It is another great example on how our students develop their leadership qualities in organising this event and use their 'voice' to make a difference! A thank you must go out to the members of staff who donated so much of their time guiding and supporting our Student Council members; making yet another event into a success.
