Dear Parent,

We start off this week's newsletter in Secondary. Last Monday we had the Year 10 Global Perspective showcase, where the Year 10s doing this subject set out stalls on the 5th floor discussing a variety of themes such as inequality, world poverty, discrimination of gender and persecution of people around the world. This was thought provoking and very well presented. Our students are wrestling with world issues and in the process becoming conversant with things and very aware of the world around us. Thank you to Miss Carly and her humanities team for making this possible.

Also, this week as part of the Open Week, robotics has been on display in the atrium and many people have been drawn to the installation to see the kind of work that has been produced by the Secondary students. Robotics and coding is an area that we want to pursue as a school and although at early stages in its development we have garnered much interest in it.

IGCSE exams have commenced, a culmination of at least two years' work if not more. I wish every single student the very best as I know how seriously they are taking this. As I have said to them, regardless of the result, what matters is that they give their very best.

In Primary on Friday the theme was Crazy Hair Day where students came to school with all sorts of different wigs and hair styles and colours. It was lovely to see and I enjoyed this very much. This is for a good cause as money will be collected for charity.

A reminder to you all as excitement mounts that next Friday we have the Jom Menari dance competition and on Saturday the Taylor's Got Talent show. Both promise to exhilarating events and I for one cannot wait. The students here are so endowed and willing to go beyond their comfort zones and take risks.
