With the expectation that we will be allowed to return to school soon, there are a lot of preparations underway by all staff at TISPC. I know that Secondary teachers and learners are hungry to be back in the classroom learning environment and focus on even more dynamic learning opportunities. As the guidelines and SoPs for this decision are released to us, we will endeavour to move towards this goal with passion and enthusiasm and share this info with you as it becomes available from the MoE respectively.
I am so delighted to hear of parents and learners getting involved in the community dance project initiative. I am aware that a lot of practice has been done by learners and parents and everyone is having so much fun in preparing the videos for this. If you haven’t done so already, the deadline for entry is September 18th.
This event has been the idea of Gabriel Ambrose from Year 11, he has done an outstanding job in creating this well-planned and prepared initiative and Gabriel had the opportunity to share this idea with learners throughout the school, as he has presented to Primary and Secondary learners and parents. Well done Gabriel, superb whole school event.
Here are some guidelines from Gabriel;
The website for you to learn the choreography to dance in our music video, I WANNA DANCE WITH SOMEBODY is now live. Feel free to share the website below with others in the TISPC community too, to build our team of dancers and make this Music Video as big as possible!
Before diving right in, we would recommend that you have a look at all the tutorial videos with music (at the bottom of each subpage in each designated level) and look at their respective descriptors on the homepage of the dancer website; to get a better idea of which level(s) suits you.
Once you have made your decision on the level(s) you will be dancing to, then you have all the information that you need to fill up the dancer registration form at the bottom of the homepage.
All parents of Secondary school learners have been sent timetables for the examinations which are coming up in the next few weeks. At this moment, we are expecting these to be online and some specific dates are allocated for specific examinations where learners will be off timetable during that exam window. Also, some examinations are actually taking place in the timetabled lessons on either side of the exam window in order to best facilitate this process. Please read the emails that you have received in your Engage portal to get the dates and details for this.
With the Year 11 IGCSE examinations only a few weeks away, I know that a lot of preparation has been done by learners and teachers to ensure all candidates are ready for this time. The examination dates and times are fixed by Cambridge and no resits are allowed. It will be extremely important for all Year 11 candidates to ensure they arrive on time before each examination. We have prepared support classes for all candidates to ensure that they can have last-minute support from teachers throughout this examination window, please keep watch in the Google classrooms for this information.
