Dear parents,

Once again we are faced with another challenge. I am of course referring to the closure of Klang in the light of the recent Covid-19 spike in the country. Certainly another test in this demanding year of 2020. However, as I wrote to the teachers and staff yesterday I am fully confident that the school and community will rise yet again to meet this new trial. I am extremely grateful to the staff who on Wednesday and Thursday worked very hard to get the school ready for the Klang closure for Friday.

Like you I am praying very hard that there will not be further closures of regions but if it must, it must. More importantly, I am praying that all of us are kept safe. To the families in Klang, stay safe and know that you are being supported and please do reach out to us.

I also have to thank you parents for your patience, goodwill and suggestions regarding improving traffic flow. We once again looked at the configuration and by moving Year 3 across to lane 2, the traffic jam has been eased and it seems that it is now flowing better. I am still getting a few complaints from parents about cars that are blocking lanes while you are waiting. I would ask you if you are coming early to please park somewhere else because by blocking the lane you are stopping people coming to pick up students from Primary. Please be aware and sensitive to this and park well away from the pick-up point while you are waiting. Also this week the school welcomed the presence of the Police also at pick up time. They were happy to be assisting and said that they would come by frequently.

On another note, I am working with the cafeteria and taking your concerns to Cezar’s in an effort to improve the food that is being served. They have increased portions this week so once again thank you for your suggestions which are being taken seriously.

With the closure of Klang it became evident that not all addresses in our system are up to date. If you have moved recently or have not let the school know of any change of address or phone number please do so as this is a vital piece of information and allows us to contact you quickly and easily. Your cooperation in this matter is urgently sought.

Lastly we are all working tirelessly to give our children the best education we can either in the classroom or through online learning and again this week we have been proactive by reducing sport and swimming activities, once again having meals in classrooms and again insisting on masks outside and rigorously following the SOPs for the pandemic. Rest assured that we are continuously monitoring these areas for improvement and for consideration.
