Dear parents,
A short note to say hello and welcome to the first week of school.
Yesterday saw the start of the new academic year and we welcomed in our new students to the Puchong family. I thought that considering the extra challenges that we all face in this day and age yesterday went as efficiently as it could be wished for. Thank you for your cooperation. Both morning drop-offs and pick-ups went smoothly with very few hiccups.
The rest of the day equally was a murmur of student voices enjoying activities and lessons while of course learning on their first day back. I visited a few classes and asked the students if they were glad to be back, something which was pretty much unanimous. It is so rewarding to see the school in full flow.
Today we had an impromptu visit from the MOE to see our compliance with SOP’s and safety procedures. They toured the school and went to a few classrooms and I can report to you that we achieved a green light, which is, of course, good to hear and validation of our safety protocols.
Currently, we have had about 80% attendance on each of the two days at school which has surpassed our expectations. We realise though and understand the reasons for some of you staying at home and we are looking at further ways to improve access to our blended and continual online learning. We will keep you posted on further developments.
Rest assured that we are all working hard to make the school as safe as is possible and also to make any learning either face to face or hybrid online meaningful and impactful. A lot of preparation time has gone into this. We are regularly monitoring the situation to see if there are any changes and will provide further communication regularly and when necessary.
Thank you also for your patience and assistance in making these starting days very enjoyable.
All the best.
