Every week we focus on one TIS's value as represented in our TIS's RECIPE. This week was the value of INTEGRITY. This means that the teachers, in their interaction with the children, relate back to this value as often as appropriate. In today's primary assembly, we introduced a new song about Integrity. In the song, we talk about integrity as knowing the difference between right and wrong and acting or behaving in accordance. We also talked about that this value needs to happen from an intrinsic motivation. It was worded as 'You're making good choices, even when no one is looking at you'. I wonder if the children will talk about this week's core value at home? They might even mention the new song, although it does need a bit more practice!
We have just entered September and this is the time of the year when we start our planning for the next academic year. One of the things we are now in the midst of, is the planning of the events for 2020. Over this year, the teachers and the class parents have organised a number of events for our community. We tried to ensure that all major festivals and celebrations were acknowledged and that there was a good spread of activities over the year with a balanced distribution over the terms. The class parents will have a voice in the planning of next year's events. If you have any feedback or suggestions, do let them know. They can then be considered when planning for the next year. Alternatively, you are of course always welcome to come and see me to share your thoughts and ideas.
