After receiving some much awaited news about school openings, we are able to start planning more specifics. For the Secondary students we are able to allow Year 11 learners to return to the school for their learning and work towards the IGCSEs, the date for this is to be confirmed.
We are anticipating that the majority of teachers will return to school and the timetable will continue as normal, with the exception that teachers will be running their Zoom sessions from the classroom instead of their own homes.
The classrooms are being set up following the guidelines and desks will be 1m apart. There will be limited movement by learners and it will be mainly the teachers walking around changing rooms. The challenge will be that the Year 11 learners have different subject choices and therefore the exposure to each other will be extended beyond their tutor group of 25 and will extend into their subject class register lists.
Confirmation of the full operating procedures will be communicated to all parents and learners before the first day back to school.
The home based learning for all other learners will continue as normal following the timetables shown previously.
We are still waiting to hear from Cambridge concerning any updates for the November IGCSE examinations and to this date, these are still continuing as planned. As long as we return to school before the 1st of July, we are still planning to run the Year 11 mock examinations this term. If we are unable to return to school before the 1st July, we will postpone these till September.
As more information becomes available, I will arrange a Zoom meeting for Year 11 parents for the IGCSEs and Year 9 parents for the IGCSE options in the near future.
