Having another shortened week with the public holiday on Wednesday meant some slight changes to the flow of the week. No assembly or CCAs this week, however a lot of hard work and preparation going on for IGCSE examinations.

Our Year 11 learners have IGCSE examinations on Wednesday and Friday next week and the rest of the month follows a similar pattern, around two or three examinations each week with the final IGCSE exam on Monday 27th May. These are mainly language examinations for Bahasa Malaysia and Mandarin which have to be taken in the June examination series as these are not available for the October series.

As part of advance notice I would also like to invite any Secondary parents who would like to be part of the planning team for the Secondary Sports day. I have had a few meetings this week to start the planning procedures off and we are planning to have the Secondary Sports day on Friday 14th June (please note the date change). This will be part of an exciting sports filled week which will be based at the school and will flow from the Primary Sports day events with stalls and fun activities taking place. Please let me know if you are interested in joining some of the Primary parents in helping that week to be an excellent experience for all.

It was great to see so many Year 9 parents at the information session about IGCSE options and I trust you found the information helpful. This term we will share with you lots of information and there will be many opportunities to chat with Department heads about IGCSE subject content and if you need any clarification on anything please contact me for an appointment. We understand the challenges and concerns in this important process and we will ensure that you have all the relevant information clearly available for you throughout this process. As a guideline, the Year 9 Options Event in Friday 12th July with final decisions made by end of this term.
