It has been a very busy two weeks for students at TIS Puchong, and the lead up to the end of term looks to be equally active and full of extended learning opportunities. A major step forward has been the fact that we were able to complete the Year 11 IGCSE mock examinations. These are currently being marked and checked as we speak and we are delighted that under this continuing Covid concern, that this was managed with excellent attendance from our learners. This will definitely help consolidate how we can target specific support in each subject area for all learners as we look towards the final IGCSE examinations later in the year.
We held another ‘House’ activity over the past few weeks and here are the results and details as highlighted by Mr Gladwin, one of the House Coordinators;
After a week of tabulation, we would like to thank everyone for helping us spread the word and getting our students to participate in the 2nd House Challenge: Father's Day Poster Challenge, which commenced on 16th of June 2021, up until 21st June 2021. Without further ado, here are the results of the second house challenge:
TISPC FATHER'S DAY POSTER CHALLENGE
1st Place: Blue. > 217 points2nd Place: Yellow> 169 points.
3rd Place: Green > 155 points
4th Place: Red. > 147 points
Now, after tabulating the poster challenge and all other activities so far, here are the total points accumulated by each house! :)
1st: Blue (1014 points)
2nd: Red (826 points)
3rd: Yellow (817 points)
4th: Green (739 points)
CONGRATULATIONS to the Blue house!!! under the leadership of Mr. Viven!
But just how long can Blue House hang on to their spot? Hmmm... I see Red 'bleeding' slowly into Blue... while Yellow and Green be chilling and sipping on Masala tea at the moment. We'll get there...soon enough ;)
As usual, we the house coordinators look forward to your contribution and assistance in our upcoming House challenges. Get psyched! but don't forget to submit your assessment reporting as well! haha.This past week also saw the Year 9 sample some IGCSE lessons, where Wednesday saw each Year 9 student experience a 30 min taster of some IGCSE subjects that they are unfamiliar with, including subjects like Economics and Computer Science. Over the next few weeks, each Year 9 student will be reflecting on all the information they have gathered to start making choices about their IGCSEs and I am sure that they will feel confident in their final decisions.
