Dear Parents and Guardians,
“
Off with their head!”
On Friday and Saturday last week, the Primary school presented “Alice the musical” and what a great job they did. The audience was truly entertained with a very familiar tale. My congratulations to all the students involved, and there were a lot. The Year 6 students delivered an excellent performance in the lead roles, while classes from Years 1, 2, 3, and 6 also participated, entertaining the audience. They showed the fruits of rehearsals with some great singing, dancing and acting. This could not have happened without the guidance and support of our staff led by Miss Grace. There is a final show this Friday, for those parents who were unable to get tickets last week. Please contact the Primary office for tickets.
At the end of the show, a cheque was presented to Children's Cancer Awareness Malaysia RM20,000 which came from the International Day the week before. This is yet another demonstration of the CSR programme that the school has in place. As part of our
Care for Others ethos students are encouraged to show respect and care for those less fortunate for themselves and others.
Leading on from this theme, my next topic is that of Care for the World. In the cafeteria we are encouraging students and staff to have their own cutlery sets. This cutlery is made from recycled materials and is therefore completely sustainable. People would use the cutlery, put it back into the box, and then take it home and wash, and then repeat the next day. The reasoning behind this is to avoid the wastage of cutlery being thrown away or lost, and to encourage students to take responsibility for their own cutlery. We will have cutlery packs available from the cafeteria and also in the vending machines. Please look out for more details
The
International Day celebration at TISPC, organised by the Primary Class Parent Committee, focused on SDG 2: Zero Hunger. Throughout the week, students engaged in activities such as watching educational videos and creating class pledges to inspire action against hunger. A highlight was the International Bazaar, which featured diverse food options and an academic exhibition showcasing displays from Kechara Soup Kitchen and Entomal Biotech on biowaste treatment. The event also included a food donation drive that collected 537.66 kg of non-perishable items, enough to support approximately 62-65 families in need. The week concluded with an assembly celebrating the school community's diversity and commitment to combating hunger, thanking all participants for their contributions to this important cause.
As mentioned in previous weeks, the exam season is finally here. Our Year 11 students start their IGCSE exams this coming week. This is the culmination of their school life so far, and is a key stepping stone for the next stage in their learning journey. Year 11 will now be on study leave and will only come to school when they have a paper. I wish them all the best with their exams, and remind them that the staff in school are available if they need last minute help or support.
Stay safe
