I would like to start by wishing our Muslim community “Selamat Berpuasa”. I know that this is a very special time of the year, and a time for reflection for all concerned.
The end of the school term is approaching and it has been a very busy and successful term. It is so good to see students involved in the normal activities of a school, without the restrictions that have been in place for the pandemic. Sports fixtures, school trips, parent meetings, and IPC exit points to name a few are all now operating as normal. Having written that, it has also been quite a long term, and so our students will welcome the term break which starts on 15th April.
As we approach the end of this first term, our Primary students are excited preparing for our upcoming Book Week. This yearly event takes place over the course of a week, and this year, it will be held during the last week of term. There will be book fairs, reading challenges, competitions, author visits, and also a book-themed dress-up day. The activities aim to foster a love of reading among our students and to promote the value of reading for pleasure. Some parents have already signed up to participate in the character dress-up activity and also to read to the children stories from different cultures and in mother tongue languages. Primary also welcomed educators from various schools who visited TISPC to attend the ICA conference. Our students demonstrated our IEYC and IPC learning in the classrooms with elements of Quantum Learning.
In Secondary, this week we have been holding our annual Higher Education and Careers week. This started on Tuesday with a Fair bringing Garden International School, Nexus International School and the Australian School together with Taylor’s College, to speak to Year 10 and Year 11 students, so that they can find out more about their options after IGCSE. These sessions were really useful for them to help plan their futures (#Raise them Ready). If parents have any questions about these options, please do not hesitate to contact the Secondary school.
Thank you to the parents who have given feedback about the basement parking and traffic. We are reviewing the process here and will make some changes during the end of term break. At the end of the break, we will send out a reminder to all parents about how the pick-up and drop-off should work. We hope that this will smooth the process again, but it is good to keep in mind the sheer quantity of cars entering the car park at these times. Your patience and understanding is greatly appreciated.
Stay safe
