Dear Parents / Guardians
The ‘Haze’ has been with us for a week or so now. We do have air quality devices in the school and monitor the conditions at the campus on a regular basis. The air quality readings do change with the weather and so it is very difficult to predict a few hours in the future, let alone, one day to another.
As you have seen, we have been cancelling outdoor activities and outdoor PE lessons in the last week to keep students safe. This can be very frustrating but is important to limit the level of exposure.
Primary teachers, students and the wider school community were mesmerised at TISPC's musical 'The X Factory'. Our Year 5 and Year 6 students showcased their talents in this funny musical where characters like Simon Trowel, Bruno Macaroni and Cherri Cola had the audience in hysterics. The hours of practice and the collaboration from all the different teams demonstrate how well we work together as a school community. The proceeds from the ticket sales went to a charity which sits close to our hearts, the Children's Cancer Association of Malaysia, which supports children battling cancer and their families.
The final paper IGCSE exams started this week with Add Maths, History and ICT. These papers will continue until nearly the end of term. On behalf of the school community, I would like to wish Year 11 “all the best” with these papers, and remind them of a famous saying, “The more I practise, the luckier I get”.
In the Primary school, October promises events galore as we look forward to our annual International Day celebration where this year, the students will visit different booths set up by parents and learn more about the importance of the third UN Sustainable Development Goal, Good Health and Well-being. Students will go on trail together, trying out different activities and solving puzzles. There will also be booths selling food, highlighting how food speaks its own language, creating bonds and bringing international communities together.
