Lunar New Year Celebrations
Our school was filled with joy and excitement as we celebrated Lunar New Year together on February 7th. Students, parents, and staff came together to enjoy vibrant performances, including an energetic Dragon and Lion Dance that brought the festivities to life. A special thank you to our dedicated Mandarin and Facilities Teams for making this event so memorable!

Meet the Principal Coffee Morning: Engaging with Our Parents
Thank you to all the parents who attended the Meet the Principal Coffee Morning. It was a valuable opportunity to connect and share feedback from the parent and student surveys. We were pleased to report an improvement in our Net Promoter Score from 1 to 9. We discussed the top five areas of satisfaction for both parents and students, as well as areas for improvement. We are committed to continuous improvement and look forward to working together to make TIS even better.

IGCSE Results and Scholarship Awards
Congratulations to our students on their excellent 2024 IGCSE results! Overall, 48% achieved A*-A, 67% achieved A*-B, and 85% achieved A*-C, significantly higher than UK averages. We are particularly proud of the significant improvements in First Language English, English Literature, Additional Mathematics, Music, ICT, Art & Design, Business Studies, and Design & Technology.

We also celebrated the achievements of 14 students who received IGCSE scholarships, recognising their academic excellence and leadership qualities.

Strengthening Our Community: Parent Involvement and Workshops
We are exploring the re-establishment of the TIS Parent-Teacher-Friends (PTF) group, creating more opportunities for parents to connect and contribute to school life. In addition, we will be offering parent workshops and information sessions on various learning approaches and topics of interest.

Use of Phones and Smart Watches in School
Effective after Chinese New Year, primary students are not permitted to have phones during the school day. In secondary, phones will not be allowed during school hours (8:00 am - 3:30 pm) unless permitted by a teacher for learning activities. Smart watches will also not be allowed. This policy aims to enhance learning, well-being, and social connections.

Safety First: Evacuation Drill Update
Safety remains a top priority at TIS. Our recent evacuation drill ensured that students and staff are well-prepared in case of an emergency. We will continue to refine procedures based on feedback to strengthen our safety protocols.
