Puchong, Monday, 20th January 2020 - Taylor’s International School (TIS) awarded scholarships to several outstanding students to pursue their studies at their Kuala Lumpur and Puchong campuses. Receiving this year’s scholarships from the President of Taylor’s Schools, Mr. BK Gan are Chadwyck See Yue Shen, Year 8 (TIS Kuala Lumpur); Marissa Ariana Binti Mohd Azlin, Year 8 (TIS Puchong) and Ng You Li, Year 9 (TIS Puchong).

Chosen via a rigorous selection process, the scholars have already proven themselves to be outstanding students whose achievements and aspirations go beyond their academic. Marissa from TIS Puchong is an all-round student whose academic accomplishment is rivalled only by her achievements in sports. She was President at her former school’s Karate Club and is actively competing as a rhythmic gymnast. Year 9 student Ng You Li also displays similar artistic endeavours beyond the classroom, with numerous competitions under her belt as an accomplished pianist. For TIS Kuala Lumpur, Chadwyck stood out from the rest for not only being academic accomplished but also for his outstanding abilities in arts.

It is through this scholarship awards that TIS upholds its purpose to educate the youth of the world to take their productive place as leaders in the global community.

Echoing the scholarship vision, Mr. Stefano Piumatti expresses hope that these scholars will fulfill their undoubted potential in their lives and make full use of the opportunities provided by the scholarship to blossom and grow into their talents. “They have already shown at the application stage that they are able students who can think outside of the box,” says Mr. Peter Wells. He continues to add that it is now the school’s responsibility to nurture these scholars and prepare them for the future with academic success and fine tune their skills.

At the end of the award ceremony, we caught up with the scholars as they shared their excitement towards the new opportunities that comes hand-in-hand with the scholarship. “I strongly believe that this scholarship will make me more confident and streamline my future education pathway.” said Chadwyck. Pianist You Li’s excitement were centred on the musical facilities available in TIS, which she is certain will greatly improve her musical capacities. Finally, we have Marissa whose hope is that the scholarship will eventually lead her to study in a prestigious university.

Excellence in academic achievements, leadership abilities and co-curricular involvements are only a few of the criteria that TIS look for in scholarship candidates. Candidates pass through a rigorous process that ensures they are the right fit for the award which will set them up for international-standard education, and gain them access to the exceptional leverage in higher education planning within the Taylor’s Education Group.
