Kuala Lumpur, 30th August 2017- Taylor's International School goes the extra mile in celebrating Malaysia's 60th Independence Day. Held in both Kuala Lumpur and Puchong campuses concurrently, more than 3000 students come together over a 2-day celebration of unity.
The highlight of the celebration is the formation of the 'Circles of Unity' brought together by 1200 students from both Taylor's International School Kuala Lumpur and Puchong.
"It was a significant formation as the students wanted to show that these 60 years independence was only capable if the country stand united regardless of race, religion and background," said Mr. Peter Wells, Principal of Taylor’s International School Kuala Lumpur.
In conjunction with #AnakAnakMalaysia campaign, all the students were wearing the campaign's wristband. EcoWorld in collaboration with The Star Media Group have sponsored 2600 pieces of wristband in support of this event for both the schools.
"We are pleased to see the different cultures coming together in celebrating the country's Independence Day. Besides the formation of the Circle of Unity, we also have a Anak-anak Malaysia parade, cultural performances and poem reading," said Mr. David Flint, Principal of Taylor's International School Puchong in highlighting some of the other activities that are taking place.
Following Taylor's International School core value of respecting and caring for each other, this celebration is one of the many ways where students are exposed to different cultures as well as reminding them of the journey that Malaysia took to gain its independence and peace.
The celebration was truly wonderful and Taylor’s International School hopes to be able to continue this celebration annually for years to come.
