Learning beyond the classroom
When it comes to building a child’s character, traits such as empathy, confidence and leadership are of utmost importance.
These are qualities that will set your child apart from the rest, as it empowers them to make the most of every situation that comes their way.
TIS offers a unique range of activities to its students including student councils, Model United Nations, Interact Club, a Peer-to-Peer Mentoring programme and more.
These programmes give students the opportunity to engage in and lead projects that they are passionate about.
Engaging in projects that align their interests with community needs, students will discover how they can create a meaningful impact on the world.
This learning approach not only helps them discover their own purpose, but also provides a relevant context for shaping their future aspirations.
“Our mission at TIS is to provide an exceptional education that allows students to apply their knowledge in real-world situations, ensuring that what they learn has meaning in their lives,” says TIS Executive Principal Peter Wells.
Paving the way for personal successOnce children are empowered with a sense of purpose and are confident about charting their own progress, they are poised to embrace and thrive in a limitless future.
In its commitment to empower students in charting their individual paths, TIS has introduced an innovative student-directed programme known as “Personal Pathways”.
Designed for students in Year 10 and 11, this programme allows them to explore diverse interests beyond IGCSE subjects.
By exploring their interests, they have the opportunity to cultivate a versatile portfolio of micro-credentials, which is a compelling asset that can significantly bolster their applications to colleges and universities.
“The programme was launched at our Kuala Lumpur campus in 2021. Due to its popularity, we have now made it available in our Puchong campus as well,” says TIS Puchong Head of Secondary Education Mike Moreton.
“As students discover more about themselves, they will want to broaden their skills and knowledge, and eventually find a specific purpose that drives their future success.”
