7 October 2022
We are fast approaching the end of the school year and it is very nice to see many traditional school activities return. Just as this is happening, our Year 11 students are taking study leave and now starting the IGCSE exam programme which will continue until the last week of school. Year 11 will be coming in just for their exams, and these exams will mainly be held in the school hall. Parents might be interested to learn that we will have well over 1100 separate papers sat across over 20 subjects. I would ask all students and parents to be quiet around the hall, to respect the needs of Year 11 students as they challenge themselves with these written papers. Please can I remind Year 11 students to sign in and out of school using the registers provided. Good luck to all Year 11 students, and I look forward to seeing the results from these exams in January 2023.
Many congratulations to all the Key Stage 2 students for a fantastic sports day, last Friday. It was super to see so many parents attending and also to hear the support and camaraderie between the students as they competed. Well done to all the students who took part in this event, it was a really good reflection of what we have missed for a few years.
I would like to take the opportunity this week to reinforce the school's communication channels, as this was an outcome from parents from the survey earlier in 2022. This information is published each year in the parent/student handbook but here is an overview.
-Questions about lessons and subject content should go through the class teacher in Primary or the subject teacher in Secondary.
-Questions about curriculum should go to the Year leader in Primary or the Head of Department in Secondary.
-Questions about behaviour should be addressed to the Primary Year Leader or the Year Coordinator in Secondary
-For wider questions regarding each section please refer to Anne Marie as the Head of Primary or Ed as Head of Secondary.
-For whole school questions, please contact Ed as the campus Principal.
You are also most welcome to see me, especially for finance or operational questions, or if you feel you have not received appropriate support from other parts of the school. We welcome feedback as that is a really useful tool for continuous improvement.
Contacting the school is easy and there are a variety of channels.
You can phone using 03 8932 5000.
You can email teachers using their school email addresses. There are too many to detail here.
Finally a reminder that there is no school on Monday, as it is a public holiday to celebrate Prophet Muhammad's Birthday. I wish everyone a relaxing long weekend.
