Dear Parents / Guardians,
I hope that you are well in this CMCO period. Many businesses and industries have returned, and I hope that life is starting to become a little more familiar for you.
As you will all be aware, schools are still closed and we are waiting for messaging from the MoE about a date that this can happen. I have written in previous messages that TISKL is preparing for the opening of the campus and are waiting for the official SoP from the MoE before publishing our plans to parents. We do accept that there are some diverse opinions about the opening of schools, and we will be publishing a simple survey to seek your opinion about sending your children back to the campus.
We will be keeping the social distancing seen as normal now together with the use of masks, temperature checks and hygiene rules. To reduce the number of students in school we are intending to operate a blended system of in school and streaming lessons, and so half our students will be in school receiving the lessons live and the other half will see the lesson through a device, and then they will rotate on a weekly basis..
The MoE has allowed schools to have a limited number of staff in the campus, and so if you need to collect books, or other items that are still in school, you must contact the school to gain permission. We can then arrange the guards to help, but you must come with a mask and have temperature checks taken.
Please look out for updates about the online learning from Primary and Secondary. Secondary parents should now be receiving a weekly statement of the learning outcomes for the week. This will show you what your children are learning. If you have further questions, then please direct them to the subject teacher. Primary parents will see a similar approach through the Year group Google site.
I wrote about this previously but as a reminder, the Agong’s official birthday public holiday has been moved from Saturday 6th June to Monday 8th June, and so next Monday will be a public holiday and consequently there will be no lessons.
Some people have also spotted that later this month, we have two staff training days on the calendar, on Monday and Tuesday 29th and 30th June. Under the current situation this training will not be happening and so the Board has agreed to convert these days back to teaching days. The online calendar will be amended and teachers will remind students about lessons on those days.
Stay safe.
