Happy Chinese New Year

Gong Xi Fa Chai

I would like to wish everyone and especially our Chinese community a very happy lunar new year. It has been a challenging two years and I really do hope that 2022 is the start of everything coming back to normal.

It has been so good to walk around the campus and see and hear children learning in school again. Their presence makes the school come alive, I just hope schools can remain open.

In keeping the school open, we do need the support of parents to monitor their children. If you see any symptoms of illness, please keep your child at home. You have received a separate email about testing of staff and students before returning to the campus after CNY. The school is closely following the SoPs and we are being very careful with keeping everyone on the campus as safe as possible. To do this we need everyone's support.

IGCSE success from 2021
Congratulations to students from 2021 Year 11 for the fantastic IGCSE results from November 2021. The results for KL were the best we have seen since the school started IGCSE with 60% A and A*, and 88% A* to C. This was narrowly better than the 2021 results.
Over both campuses, we had 53 students who scored all A or A*, which is tremendous news. Hopefully we will also have some “Top in Malaysia” awards as well, but we will need to wait to find that out. All this when these students spent the majority of Y10 and 11 learning from home. Simply superb!

Performing Arts
More congratulations, this time to the Performing Arts team for the tremendous performances at shopping malls in the city for CNY. Chinese drummers and dancers have impressed shoppers at the Intermark Mall, Fahrenheit Mall, Pavilion Bukit Jalil and Pavilion Bukit Bintang.
Thank you to parents for supporting these students and driving them forwards. It has been nearly two years since we have done this and so most of the students had to quickly get up to speed or in many cases learn for the first time. They will continue performances up to and during the traditional CNY period. If you get a chance to see them, I thoroughly recommend it.

Stay safe
Peter
