School's Out!
When non-teachers think that the last week of school is a winding-down period, they must think again! During the final week of the academic year, the following events took place for students and teachers in the primary school: swimming competition at IGB; exit points for Years 1, 2, 3, 4 and 6; Early Years end of year concert; Shakespeare mini plays by Year 6 students; basketball and benchball competitions for boys and girls; and a Day of Celebration on Thursday! Pictured here with Mr Wells and me is Natalie Chan, who achieved the award for Outstanding Academic Excellence. Natalie attained the highest overall marks in English, Maths and Science across the Year 6 cohort. We are extremely proud of the achievements of all students who were nominated to receive awards last week.
Yummy, yummy, yummy!
Eric Carle’s, ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar’ was brought to the stage by the Early Years children in a very yummy production, with amazing props and costumes. All children took part in the show which stuck closely to the storyline of the book. As the caterpillar grew, it munched its way through lots of fruit, chocolate cake, gherkins and cheese, before transforming into a beautiful butterfly. A lovely imaginative story which has stood the test of time, having been first published 50 years ago!
We are the champions!
Yellow House celebrated their sports day victory with a trophy presentation and fun time in the badminton hall. Pictured here are House Captains, Yan Joe and Maisy.
Blue House students were thrilled with their success in gaining the most House Points for 2019. They gathered in the school hall to celebrate their victory. This is the first year the House Points system has been extended across all subjects in Early Years and Primary and we congratulate the Blue students for their overall achievement.
Looking forward to 2020
To ease into the new year, Year 1 students will avoid the rush by joining their class at 8:20am on the first morning of Term 1. Early Years learners will begin school on Thursday 9th January.
We look forward to welcoming everyone back after the holidays.
Wishing all students and their families a wonderful holiday, and sending Christmas wishes to those who are celebrating next month.
Kind regards,
Lynne
